Built at Baltimore in 1832 for the Revenue Cutter Service schooner Oliver Wolcott served along the Atlantic Coast from New England to the Virginia capes until departing Baltimore 7 December 1844 for Mobile, Ala., and operated in the Gulf of Mexico. During the Mexican War, the schooner operated under Navy orders as a despatch boat in the Gulf. She was ordered sold at Mobile 8 January 1851.
