Get There, a motor yacht, was built in 1916 by Wood & McClure of City Island, N.Y., acquired by the Navy 28 June 1917 under free lease from her owners, J. S. Bache and F. L. Richards' New York City; taken over at New York 14 July 1917; and commissioned 10 August 1917, Boatswain F. L. Richards USNRF, in command.

Assigned to the 3d Naomi District, Act There served as a section patrol boat during World War I. She patrolled New York harbor and in wintertime laid up at the New York Navy Yard marine basin. After the Armistice, she decommissioned at New York 6 March 1919, and was returned to her owner, J. S. Bache, 1 October.x
