Denmark is ethnically fairly homogeneous, with a Danish-speaking majority and growing immigrant communities. Danish is the national language, and English is very widely spoken.
The state church is Evangelical Lutheran, to which most Danes nominally belong, though society is highly secular, with a Muslim minority among immigrants.
Danes enjoy among the highest living standards, life expectancy, and reported happiness in the world, supported by universal healthcare and education, though an aging population pressures the welfare model.
