Food
The major staple in this period was bread. Whether rich or poor, everyone consumed large quantaties of bread. The upper classed consumed a vaired diet. Pork was a favorite food. Roasted meat was also a favorite of the rich.
Cheese and butter were favorites of the Carolingian dies. Vegetables were also eaten by both rich and poor. They included beans, pea and lenis as well as garlic onions and carrots.
Drinking was a major activitiy for both rich and poor. Whethr wine among the aristocrats or ale, Carolingians drank often to the excess.
