2002 Bali Tourist Nightclub Bombed
A few minutes before Midnight on October 12th the Sari nightclub in Bali, Indonesia. The attack carrier out by a local affiliate of Al-Queda called Jemaah Islamiyah. Over 180 people were killed many Australian tourist. .
A nightclub in Bali was acted on October 12th 2002. These attacks were orchestrated by Jemaah Islamiyah, a Southeast Asian Islamist extremist group affiliated with Al-Qaeda. The main target was the Sari Club, a popular nightspot in Kuta, Bali, Indonesia.
The attack consisted of two separate blasts: the first was a suicide bomb detonated inside Paddy's Pub, which caused patrons to flee into the street, and the second was a larger car bomb detonated outside the Sari Club. These explosions resulted in widespread damage and high casualties. Over 200 people were killed and several hundred more were injured. The majority of the victims were foreign tourists, predominantly Australians, but the casualties also included individuals from more than 20 other countries.
The Bali bombings represented a major terrorist act in Indonesia and had significant international ramifications. The attacks severely impacted Indonesia's tourism industry, resulting in economic decline for a period of time.
