April 1963- President Kennedy's Schedule

1	President Kennedy returned to the White House from Camp David with his family. The President met with John Gleason the Administrator of the Veterans Administration. The President met with Arthur Krim, John Snyder, Howard Samuels and Mr Kalmers. After Lunch the President met with Senator Clinton Anderson. The President had a meeting with Douglas Dillon, S Saunders, Mark Cresap, Frazie Wilde, Henry Ford, Sam Fleming, and Henry Wilson. The President next had a meeting on India. Rusk, Harriman and McNamara. The President met with Eugene Black and then John McCloy. The President and the First Lady had a small dinner with Mr and Mrs Max Freedman and Mr and Mrs Goddard Liberson. The First Couple and their guests later went to see The School for Scandal at the National Theater".
2	The President began his day by meeting a Legislative Leaders Breakfast. The President had a meeting with the National Security Council to discuss Europe, Cuba, and international trade. the President had a meeting with David Lawrence. He then had an hour long meeting with Harold Wilson. After lunch the President had a meeting with Christian Herter, George Ball, William Gassett, Michael Blumenthal and Carl Kaysen. The President then had a five minute meeting with the Deputy Defense Minister of Israel Shimon Peres. Between 6 and 7 the President held a reception for members of Congress.
3	President Kennedy has a pre press conference breakfast. The President had a meeting on Cuba with RFK, Edwin Martin, Robert Hurwitch, Thomas Parrott, Richard Helms, Desmond Fitzgerald, Cyrus Vance Joseph Califaro Jr and Ralph Dungan. The President has meetings with the Ambassador of Thailand followed by the US Ambassador to the Congo. After Lunch the President gives his Press Conference. After the Press Conference the President met with Byron Rumford and assemblyman from California. Between 6-7 the President hosted a Social hour for Congressmen.
4	President Kennedy began his day meeting Congressmen : Henry Gonzalez, Joseph Montaya and Edward Roybak. He next with the R.G.K Thompson the head of the British Advisory Mission to South Viet-Nam. The President then met with Robert McNamara. The President next met Alfred Zohnder the Ambassador of Switzerland. President Kennedy's next meeting was with Robert Kin High the Mayor of Miami. After going to the pool the President hosted a luncheon for South Carolina Publishers and Editors. After Lunch the President met with Governor Frank Morrison . He then met with CIA Director John McCone. The President ended the day with a meeting with Agriculture Secretary Orville Freeman. The President and First Lady hosted an off the record dinner for the Bundys Andre Myer and Florence Mahoney.
5	The President met with William Barron the Governor of West Virginia. He then met a delegation from the Citizens Committee for a National Academy on Foreign Affairs. The President next saw Ridgeway Knight the US Ambassador to Syria. Next was a meeting with advisers to discuss Berlin and communicating with Soviet Premier Khrushchev. The President received a pass for the Baseball Season and then met with the newly elected Governor of Piaui State in Brazil. After lunch the President met with Dillon,Gordon, Heller, Charles Schultz, Gardner Ackley and Sorensen. He then met wit Rusk, RFK Llewellyn Thomspon, and Bundy. The President met with Ernest McFarland the former governor of Arizona. The President finished the official day with a meeting with Jim Cannon of Newsweek.
6	The President began his day meeting Congressman Jeffrey Cohelan. He then had a meeting with Associate Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg. Next was Senator Estes Kefauver. The President also met with Hugh Sidey and Desmond Fitzgerald. The President next took a helicopter toe Camp David.
7	President Kennedy and his party tour the Antietam battlefield, Sharpsburg, Maryland.
8	The President returned from Camp David. He met the new Ambassador of Ceylon (Sri Lanka). The President then headed for DC Stadium where he opened the 1963 baseball season by throwing out the first ball. On returning to the White House the President met with Llewellyn Thompson, George Ball and McGeorge Bundy- the topic India and Pakistan. His last meeting was with Walt Rostow. At 7:16 he went to the pool.
9	The President began his day with a Legislative Leaders Breakfast. He next meets with Sicco Manshot the VP of the EEC Commission. The President greeted members of the Traffic Safety Committee. After Lunch the President y signs Proclamation 3517 declaring Winston Churchill an honorary citizen of the United States. The President then met with the Advisory Policy Board Conference of Appalachian Governors. The President next met with the General Advisory Committee for US Arms Control and Disarmament. The President then had a meeting with Robert Lovett. The Presidents last meeting was on the economic policy and it included Dillon, McNamara and Luther Hodges. The meeting ended at 7PM.
10	The President met with Congressman Samuel Friedel. He then met Admiral Claude Rickets and John McNaughton. The President next met with John Hannah and Clark Cliford. Next the President had a meeting on Wages and Steel Prices. The President then had a meeting with the National Security Council to discuss the situation in Laos. After Lunch the President met with Ben Bradlee. The President had another meeting on Steel Wages and Prices. At 7:30 He went to the pool.
11	In the morning the President had meetings with Robert Kennedy, Walter Heller, Luther Hodges and advisers to discuss wage and price increases in the steel industry. He issues a statement stating that he opposes cross the board increases in steel prices. He then flew to Palm Beach.
12	The President and Mrs. Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fay and children cruise on the ocean and on Lake Worth. Palm Beach, Florida.
13	President Kennedy, Paul Fay, and children cruise aboard the Honey Fitz. Palm Beach, Florida.
14	Easter Sunday- the President, Mrs Kennedy and the children attend church services at the home of Ambassador Kennedy. Later President and Mrs. Kennedy and children, and Paul Fay and children cruise Lake Worth aboard the Honey Fitz and aboard the sailboat Pattycat, Palm Beach, Florida.
15	The President Caroline, Secretary Fay and the children went shopping. President Kennedy cruises aboard the Honey Fitz, Palm Beach, Florida. John MCone met with the President in the evening.
16	The President Caroline and 2 Spaulding Children to the Municipal Pier. President Kennedy and Ambassador to France Charles Bohlen cruise aboard the Honey Fitz, Palm Beach, Florida.
17	President and Mrs. Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy cruise aboard the Honey Fitz, Palm Beach, Florida. The President then returns to Washington .
18	The President begins the day with a meeting with Rusk and Ball. He then has a meeting on Balance of Payments. Next the President meets with Robert Kemer. Luncheon in the White House State Dining Room for Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands. After lunch the President meets with his aids and then receives members of the Insurance Investment Officers. The President then met for 35 minutes with the Ambassador of Yugoslavia. The President next met with Philp Graham and then with Joseph Alsop. The Presidents last official public act of the day was to present the Citation of Merit award to Mrs Florence Jeffery Hurst Harrian.
19	The President began his day meeting the President of the Lions International. That was followed when President Kennedy greeted Ministers of Health of the American Republics in the Rose Garden. The President then met John C.P. McEwen the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia. The President attended a Luncheon and spoke at the American Society of Newspaper Editors. The President then met with Elsworth Bunker the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The President next met with RFK, Harriman, Roger Hilsman, Michael Forrestal and McGeorge Bundy. The President next met with General Pem Chand of the Indian Army. He then met with Max Drauer a member of the German Parliament. The President then hosted a reception for the American Society of Newspaper Editors and their Wives.
20	The President begins his day with a meeting with Dr Alberto Lieras the former President of Columbia. The President then met with Otis Chandler and Nick Williams. Next the President met with Walter Jones. The President next hosted a National Security Council Meeting that dealt with events in Laos. The President next flew to Boston. He spoke at the Boston College. The President then returned to Washington and went to Camp David.
21	President Kennedy attends Mass at Camp David Recreation Hall, Camp David, Maryland. He returned to Washington late in the afternoon.
22	The President activated a countdown clock that showed that the New York Fair would open in one year. Meeting with the National Security Council to discuss Laos and Cuba. The President received winner of the teacher of the Year Award. The President next met with Norman Cousins. After Lunch the President met with George Meany. He then met with Adlai Stevenson.
23	The President began his day with a Legislative Leaders Breakfast. He then went into the Rose Garden and greeted the National Council of Senior Citizens. The President signed HR4715 to incorporate the Eleanor Roosevelt Memorial Foundation. The President next met with Emmanuel Pelaez the Vice President of the Philippines. The Presidents next meeting was with the Atlantic Advisory Policy Group. After Lunch President Kennedy addressed the National Foreign Policy Conference for Editors and Broadcasters. The President then returned to the White House and received Members of the Foreign Intellegience Advisory Board. The President ended his official day with a meeting with Kar Hagen of the German publication Quick. At 7:25 the President left his office and went to the pool.
24	President Kennedy began his day with a Pre Press Breakfast. The VP and Secretary Rusk were in attendance. The Presidents first meeting was with the newly appointed Ambassador of Bolivia. The President next received members of the Committee on Youth Employment. The President next had a meeting to discuss the Multi-Lateral Force. Attending the meeting were Rusk, Ball and others. The President next received the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaya Tun Abdul Razak. The President had a luncheon in the White House for Labor Leaders. At 4PM the President gave a press conference. After the Press Conference the President returned to the White House and met with Cardinal Cushing. He then met with Congressman Wilbur Mills. The President next met with General Lucius Clay, Frank Cofffin. The President ended his day at 7:20.
25	The President began the day with a meeting with Miguel Augusts Riberio the newly appointed ambassador of Ghana. He next met with Fritz Erler the Deputy Chairman of the German Social Democratic Party. The President next chaired a cabinet meeting. After the cabinet meeting the President met with Carl Rowan the Ambassador to Finland. Next the President met with Ryuji Takeichi the new Ambassador of Japan. After Lunch the President met with Howard Beale the Ambassador of Australia. The President next met with group of business leaders called the Business and Finance Committee for Tax Reductions in 1963. The President then had a meeting on India, Rusk, McNamara, Ball, Bundy and General Taylor were just some of the participants. At 9:30 the President hosted a Congressional Reception.
26	The President began his day with a meeting with Alan Kirk the US Ambassador to the Republic of China who was resigning. The President traveled to the Pentagon for a briefing. The President spoke to the personnel present. The President returned to the White House and met with Dean Rusk. After lunch the President met with Walter Dowling. He then greeted a group of Young Democrats. The President next met with Senator Eduaro Frei- the leader of the Chilean Christian Democratic Party. The Presidents next meeting was with a group of business leaders. They included Roger Blough, Harold Beschenstien, Crawfod Greenwalt, Thomas Watson jr, Alan Spoul, David Rockefeller and Henry Fowler. The President ended his day with an 8PM meeting with Hank Suydan and Pierre Salinger.
27	President Kennedy met with Ladd Plumley the President of the US Chamber of Commerce. The President next met the John Archibald Calhoun the newly appointed Assistant Chief of the Mission, Berlin. The President met with advisers to discuss Jordan, the Middle East situation, and Haiti. Advisors included McNamara, Ball and Bundy. The President then greeted Princeton Fellows. The President had a meeting with Richard Neustadt and then after a swim flew to Camp David.
28	President and Mrs. Kennedy attend church services and host guests Lemoyne billings and Ambassador and Mrs. David Ormsby-Gores. at Camp David, Maryland.
29	The President returned from Camp David. The President first meeting was with Thomas Sorensen of USIA and Charles Maechling Jr Director of Internal Security at the State Department. The President then met with Eugene Black. President Kennedy presented the Distinguished Service Medal to Admiral Robert Dennison. After Lunch the President met with Danny Thomas. Between 6 and 7 the President hosted a Congressional Social Hour.
30	The President began the day with a Legislative Leader Breakfast. The President met with Francis Sayre and Irwin Miller of the National Council of Churches. The President next welcomed Grand Duchess Charlotte and Prince Jean of Luxembourg. The President met the Arkansas Congressional Delegation, The President had a one on one meeting with Grand Duchess Charlotte for twenty minutes and then for the next 40 the rest of the party joined them. The President next met with Raymond Aron the Minister of Education for France. The President next with Averell Harriman and Michael Forrestal. Harriman reported on his recent meeting with Chairman Khruschev in Moscow. The President met with Douglas Dillon and then in a final meeting spoke to New York Mayor Wagner. In the evening the President and First Lady hosted a State Dinner in honor of the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.
