Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was trained as a lawyer, and served in the government of President Ayub Khan. From 1963 to 1966, he held the position of Foreign Minister, resigning in 1966 over the terms of the Indo-Pakistani truce. Bhutto founded the People's Party, which won the majority of seats in the assembly in 1970 and, in 1971, he was elected President. In 1977, accusations of ballot rigging led to riots and Bhutto's overthrow by the military. He was accused of corruption, and executed in 1979. Bibliography:
