One of the 1960's most important popular music figures, Bob Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24th 1941 in Duluth Minnesota. He strarted a number of bands while in high school. After going to the University of Minneapolis for one year he dropped out andmoved to New York and began his carreer.

While Dylan was a devotee of the music of legend Woody Guthrie, his music served to influence every important musical personality from the Beatles on. His most popular hits included "Blowin' in the Wind,""The Times They are A-Changing" and "Mr. Tambourine Man."
