The President began his day in Copenhagen representing the American request that Chicago host the 2016 Summer Olympics. The President first attended an informal reception with IOC members. The President and the First Lady then spoke to members of the committee.
The President met with Danish Queen Margrethe II and the Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen. The International Olympic Committe rejected the Presdient's bid to have Chicago host the Olympics.
The President had an unscheduled meeting with American Military Commander in Afghanistan General Stanley McChrystal on Air Force One before departing for Washington.
